ASI is a partner of the Space for Our Planet exhibition which has already toured a host of countries around the world. The exhibition sets out to raise awareness about the environment and the resources at our disposal.
Space activities provide invaluable data for the protection of our planet, from Earth observation to telecommunication, navigation, and all space-related technologies.
The space sector provides essential support for sustainable development in compliance with the goals of the United Nations Agenda 2030. Europe has implemented various satellite systems such as the European Copernicus program, dedicated to Earth monitoring, a program for which Italy collects and processes data. Satellite data is essential for identifying the signs of climate change in the long term, but also for studying the trend and consequences of extreme weather events.
